About the work
‘Rosa’s Shoes’ is a Hand Embellished Signed Artist’s Proof edition - one of only two ever produced. It is embellished with touches of Italian gold leaf, British sliver leaf, specialist pigments and inks following the printing process. This Artist’s Proof is exclusively available from my own collection. Printed on 315gsm 100% cotton rag archival paper the Artist’s Proof comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is held in a fine art mount with beautifully subtle scalloping at the inner corners. It can be purchased framed.
Rosa’s Shoes is the illustration for my short story ‘Scapegoat’ which was shortlisted for the Rhys Davies Prize and subsequently published by Parthian Books. It is now part of Dreamstreet, a special illustrated collection of short-stories which I wrote between 2022 and 2024.
Extensive Hand Embellishment
My Artist Proofs are taken from the first ever prints of my original artwork.
Each of my Artist Proofs has been hand embellished by me after the printing process. I do this to enhance colours and lines that can’t be captured by even the highest quality fine art Giclée printing. This includes adding touches of Italian 23 carat gold leaf, British pure silver leaf, mica and other specialist pigments and inks.
Note that these embellishments are more in depth than those I make on my Limited Prints.
Unique hand written text
Each Artist Proof also includes a hand written, signed note by me, on the back of the print, containing an extract from my work of poetry or literature that inspired the artwork.
Due to the nature of hand embellishment, each Artist Proof is unique and may differ slightly from the one shown here.

My artwork is framed by the fine art specialists Canford & Co. They produce superb, high quality work and have an exceptional eye for selecting the best frame and mount to suit the art whilst ensuring it looks beautiful in any environment.

Each print is hand packed using protective sustainable specialist fine art packaging materials and this is reflected in the shipping costs.
For international shipping, the buyer is responsible for all costs associated with customs clearance, import duties, and local taxes.
If international shipping with DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is selected, I arrange and pay all costs associated with customs clearance, import duties and local taxes. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is an international shipping term that means the seller takes full responsibility for getting a piece of artwork safely to the buyer’s door. Under DDP, we handle every part of the process - shipping, customs clearance, import duties, and local taxes* - so you receive your artwork without unexpected costs or administrative hurdles.

Return & Refund Policy
Returns:
If you decide you do not wish to keep the item you have purchased, you may return it if you ship it within 14 days from the time of purchase. Please follow these instructions and we will process your request as soon as we can:

Once your return has been approved I will send you a Return Form to print and sign.
You should then ship the item, with the completed Return Form, within the 14 day period, unused and in its original packaging or equivalent quality packaging. You are responsible for all costs associated with returns including any additional packaging, duties and taxes.
Returns must be shipped using a reputable shipper, using a tracked and signed for service and must include shipping insurance relavant to the purchase price.
I will refund you to your original payment method, within 14 days of receipt of the returned item, as long as it meets the requirements above.
Damaged items:
I take every possible care to check the quality of each item I create, and I package each item with protective sustainable specialist fine art packaging materials before shipping. In the event that your item arrives damaged please retain all packaging and contact me straight away via our Contacts Page, WhatsApp or email at hello@kapulewis.com with the information requested below.
